" Happy" sits at 12", her legs extend 10" more.
Black hair is braided and put into Navajo bun.
Brown eyed
My mother assembled her 20+ years ago.
All her accessories, clothing and moccasins are handmade.
"Happy" wear an authentic Navajo outfit complete with velveteen-like top and cotton skirt. Moccasins are leather with leather ties.
Her accessories;
Necklace and hair barrett is made with seed beads, silver, black and turquoise.
Hair piece holding bun is yarn.
Belt was fashioned out of silver concho.
Artist information:
Helen Johns was a Navajo business woman who made jewelry, hair pieces, holiday theme pendents. She made several dolls. "Happy" was her final doll. She worked very hard on the moccasins and outfit.
