The new US Army ECWCS Generation III (GENERATION 3) refers to a system composed of 7 types of tops and 5 types of bottoms that can handle various climates and situations.
This Level 7 is the final layer of cold weather outerwear, and PrimaLoft is used as the inner layer. It is a high-tech material made of polyester, which is said to be about 8 times warmer than down.
The main feature is that, unlike down wear, feathers do not come out, and it does not require much care. It can be washed in a washing machine and is characterized by its lightweight and soft texture.
If the waterproof and breathable properties are reduced due to dirt, the function will be restored by washing.
