U.S. Military Flight Kit Bag, 1972

U.S. Military Surplus

Aviator bag issued to U.S. Air Force (USAF) pilots.
Also known as a parachute bag.
The shell was changed to nylon from the mid-1980s onwards, but this is the older canvas model.

The markings from May 1972, at the end of the Vietnam War, and the "US" blue stamp are legible.
There are stains and scratches commensurate with its age, and a few small holes in the bottom.
One of the brass W-zip tabs is missing, but the zipper still functions smoothly.
The fading is minimal except for the bottom, and even considering the dirt, it's in relatively good condition.
It's built to last, so it can still be used for a long time.
Canvas kit bags are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
